Hello, :-o
It has been a while since I've been here and I'd love to share some of our trips that Ian and I have been on.
I'm not too sure how the best way to do this would be so regard this as a tester to see if what I'm doing is going to work with sharing it here on the forum.
Lets see.... if you'll be able to see this. Will appreciate any comments. Thanks and Regards, Wendy

Thanks Wendy, an informative and well written TR so far!
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!

Thank you so much Mud Dog and Bokkie for the compliments and confirmation that it's going to be fine with posting and updating our reports here for all to see.
I'm so excited to get it finished as we covered kilometres in "deep bush" of Namibia on this trip. We also tried out a brand new road that links up from Quivertree Forest to Tsumkwe which would cut out a lot of time for anyone wanting to travel into Khaudum National Park.
I will post links as I've completed the various "Pit stops".
Have a lovely day everyone

Thank you for your feedback and compliments.

Re: Cape Town - Namibia - Botswana 2013
Hello
I though I'd come drop the forum an update of our trip report. It has been quite a learning curve getting to grips with my own blog where I can have one place to cover all our travels. If I could be on the road permanently I think I'd be one happy lady but for now... every vacation we have has memories that stay within your heart for a lifetime.
The pace I'm managing to get all the information up has been a slow road with learning along the way but slowly and surely it's all getting easier and easier.
Here are some links for the following areas if you're interested in reading up on any particular leg for our 2013 trip.
http://wp.me/P3SGWC-4k" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is the link for our itinerary of our trip
http://wp.me/P3SGWC-7k" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The link for Cape Town to Namibia and staying at Amanzi Trails on the Orange River

http://wp.me/P3SGWC-dZ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The link for Quivertree Forest to Harnas Wildlife Foundation via the back roads
http://wp.me/P3SGWC-fU" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The link for Harnas to Tsumkwe via the 4x4 Baobab Trail
http://wp.me/P3SGWC-h4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The link for Tsumkwe to Khaudum National Park - The untamed and wild park in the north-eastern region of Namibia
http://wp.me/P3SGWC-mg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The link for our days game driving in Khaudum National Park
I will keep you updated with further links once I've covered more ground with my fingers over my keyboard
I hope you enjoy a bit of armchair traveling for now
Wishing everyone a wonderful day.

Re: Cape Town - Namibia - Botswana 2013
Hi fellow four wheel drive enthusiasts
I've finally managed to get a few steps further with our road trip report.
It has been so brilliant reliving this section of the trip as we drive through the woodland savannah region doing some serious 4x4ing. The sand was incredibly soft and thick with lots of corrugations from previous, different tyre track sizes making for a very bumpy ride. The distance may be short but the time taken to do this leg with its conditions, took quite some time! We ended up camping the night at Ngepi camp after exiting Khaudum National Park out its north entrance/exit.
We had a lovely night at Ngepi Camp, alongside the beautiful river with their refreshing outdoor ablution facilities. We travelled from Ngepi Camp to the wild and untamed Mamili (Nkasa Lupala) National Park where we camped within the Linyanti Swamps. It was such a peaceful, beautiful and soul uplifting time being away from civilisation and in the wilderness again.
I'm sorry about posting links here instead of the whole trip report but as you can see when you visit our report, there is so much information given with the pictures that it would take pages and pages of space here on the forum.
If you would like to follow our road trip report and see our pictures for Khaudum National Park, Ngepi Camp and Mamili (Nkasa Lupala) National Park, please click on the following link.

http://wp.me/P3SGWC-pK" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for our day spent at our campsite in Mamili National Park.
I hope you enjoy reading and seeing all that we saw along the way as well as some of the interesting titbits of information I've tried to include.
May your four wheel drive vehicles be used to their fullest capabilities often
Cheers for now

Hi. Here is the latest update for you guys of our trip report.
I'd like to note that if you try looking for Island View Lodge on google maps you wont see the correct location for this resort as Namwi resort also has an Island View Lodge around there or linked to there. It has been a very interesting exercise going into the various information regarding the places and the lack of information some of the resorts have "out here" on the net.
I hope you enjoy the following page: I can highly recommend this place if you are travelling through the Caprivi Strip, Katima Mulilo area as its situated a little bit further out of town than some other places. It the perfect place for any fisherman or bird lover.
