Aircon pump broken

Hi My SFA's AirCon pump greeted me on my way back from Knysna.
Rough bearing noise.
Recon unit R2200 + flush fitment etc, estimated R3600

NEW toyota pump R2400 ex vat.



Anyone had similar Fixes lately....
Apparently there are three types of pumps used on the 2.4 22R
Cant see a label on it though....

Maybe just leave it broken......

Best I can suggest is that you get another quote (or quotes) from other a/c places. You cannot live in a SFA without an a/c up here, don't know about the Cape.

I have survived in mine for the last 3 years, but after this weekend in Pilanesberg I think it is time to have it repaired - apparently pump just needs a recon as it is leaking gas

This weekend doing the trip in the Pajero Charmaine and I also realised how nice it is to be able to drive with the windows closed and the aircon on. Will definitally have to make a plan with the aircon on my Lux as well as part of my rebuilt.

Any idea what the ac does to the fuel consumption on a 2.4 ?

My old 2.4 gave me less then 5 km/l with or without aircon

I bought a complete AC for my bakkie for R1500!!! It was an awesome find. I still need to install it but my Hilux being a quite older model there is no pre drilled holes in the firewall for the pipes and I have got no clue where more or less to mount the condensor and the small cylinder (What is it for?). I would appreciate if I could perhaps get a photo or two of the installation please!
