Issue with ABS

Post by Benbrand »

Hi there

I really hope someone can help me out!
I'm having problems with the brakes on my 2010 Mod Hilux. Since the day that I got the bakkie the ABS pump kicks in every time you brake softly (like when entering a parking spot) and you can hear the pump working. Otherwise no problem when brakes are applied under normal driving conditions!

Spoke to a SAC mechanic and according to him the brake line needs to be bled for this problem to be sorted out.

Any suggestions on what can cause this to happen?:eh:

Thanks!

Remove the rear sensors, check if the ABS ring is directly under them.

Measure the gap between the rear sensors and the ring, correct if neccesary

I had the same problem on my IFS. I had the sensors removed and grease cleaned off of them, and no problems after that!
