I was once a Serious Nissan Fan hey

Attached is a few pics of my first Nissin, the Lady responsible for starting my Long Nassin Love Affair - she was OUTSTANDING and to this day, I won't hear a cross word said about her

Seriously :!: :!: - In PNG she NEVER let me down, took me to places vehicles SHOULDN'T GO :o

Crossed rivers, earthquake damaged roads, SHE WAS UNSTOPPABLE.

The Love Affair came to an ABRUPT END ONLY when I bought a Hardbody in Cape Town, had a DISASTEROUS TRIP to Namibia - it broke down every 2nd day and by the time we got back (after 3 weeks and 4,000kms across Namibia) she was looking like a "township bakkie"

I crowned her a True Collectors Car


MY DEFINITION OF A COLLECTOR'S CAR - You have to keep STOPPING TO COLLECT THE BITS

Thanks so Much Eric for rescueing me, I was feeling like a Right Charlie, blocking up Big Ron's Great Elly Thread.

Geeez!!! those okes in the second pic are what I would call real black people

Rich I must admit I actually do hold Nissan in very high regard they truly are hardcore tough as nails survivors. I know its not a 4x4 but I drove a sentra for many years and often treated it like it was a 4x4 driving through farmlands etc.. ripped the exhaust off twice
It never gave me a single days hassle and I cant even claim to have looked after it well with regular services etc...

Sorry to hear of your hassles with the Hard Body maybe you were unlucky and hit a dud

Lets be honest why should they? if you look at the general market for vehicles most people dont want to be driving anything much older than 2yrs

Have you spotted the Suprising thing about AGNES (my yellow peril), it was not the best 4x4 I'd ever driven, but it was the most capable in off-road conditions, my daily drive to work was a Grade 2-4 by Kaap Standards

1991 Nissan Patrol - Boxy shape, flared wheel arch joby - Very Impressive in Mud
199? Nissan Sani Type thing - what a piece of junk - snapped shocker mounts and it was rubbish on anything soft
1992 Land Cruiser GX 4500 Turbo Diesel 100 Series - similar to Patrol - but Turbo made it unpredictable on crawls
1991 Hilux SFA Petrol (2.7??) - only drove it once - good all rounder

Land Rovers didn't last over there, they all died a death - A running one was rarer than Hen's Teeth
