herbou van bullbar - HELP ASB - Foto bygesit
Dagse Luxers,

Wag net so bietjie ......

Once you remove the big chunky bullbar, you NEVER want it back....
The same thing happened to me.....
Now do yourself a favour and remove the front bumper and see what you think...
Take a look ......
I built this one in 3 days and cost not more than R500... I had most of the steel laying around...

I Like the idea Johno, I would personally just make it a bit bigger, its slightly to thin from top to bottom and the numberplate should be on the bumper.. But thats just me.. Otherwise looks goodMOFASA wrote:Once you remove the big chunky bullbar, you NEVER want it back....

The pic is taken at a funny angle....
But it is a narrow bumper, gives me awsum app angle....
As to the number plate, I learnt that as long as it can be seen from 15mtrs the cops leave you alone.....
Hope you enjoyed the ox potjie....ForYota wrote:Ha Ha, I still needed to make us a lekker ox potjie, so I left the "workshop" at two

Re: herbou van bullbar - HELP ASB - Foto bygesit
Ok, this was an idea that I had for my old bull-bar but never got around to doing ...........
Remove bull-bar, bumper and valence. Cut the old bull-bar at the points shown .......
Take the sections that are marked "c" and "d" and swing them around through 90° so that the remaining section of bend faces backwards (tack and test first to see that the curvature follows the body line before welding back into place). Take the two bottom sections and weld them back slanted upwards, curvatures also facing back. You might have to fit a small gusset on each side between the upper and lower ends. It should then look something like this .........
Then if you like, you take the two parts that you cut off from the upper bar with the two curved sections (marked with purple arrows), in fact you could switch the upper section with the lower section on the driver's side so that you get rid if the dent in the cut-away piece.
and join where they were cut at points "a" and "b" which will give you the upper 'nudge bar' which you then weld on. If you also like, the area where you currently have your number-plate, build a winch box and put the number-plate back until you want to fit a winch. Also fit plates to mount the indicators.
This way you don't have any major expenses .... use existing materials .... just welding and painting costs.
P.S. Just excuse my 'artwork' ... it's all done by hand because I don't have photoshop.
