hilux kzte head - help

Post by sasafaris »

It looks like I am going to have to attend to my cylinder head after 412000km
I am looking at an aftermarket head and then getting the machine shop to swop the valves etc over.
The cylinder head is from Alert engine spares and costs a tad under R6000. I dont even want to ask how much the dealer part will cost.
Anyone had any experience here?
Good, bad, things to be aware of?

I am still on the original clutch and replaced the radiator Sept 2012, and apart from regular servicing, brakes, 1new set of shocks, timing belts and tyres, still going strong. And the old girl works hard in the bush, but I am particular and drive the vehicle myself 99% of the time.

The one head that will work properly is the AMC head - NOTHING else!

Maybe have the viscous fan chaged aswell?

If you are a diesel fan, raise your hand.
If you aren't raising your hand, raise your standards!

A 4x4 is merely a machine that enables you to get stuck further away from civilization.

Sorry to say not the cheapest but the only one to use. Had plenty of luck so far with filling up viscous fan instead of replacing it. Much cheaper and just as good

Sover ek kan onthou was Alert spares die goedkoopste met AMC Head toe ek rond gebel het. Daar is 'n tak in kaapstad ook.
