Hi Shaun
I am the person driving over Sakkie's truck in that picture. It was done for the purpose of the photo, intentionally and with consent. The biggest complaint after the picture was taken was the dirt that I dropped onto his truck.
With regards to your comment above - There will always be a know-it-all and know-better person in any club and they will always have kittens (I was not at the Club Event referred to above and this comment is a generalization of circumstance and not aimed at anybody specific, nor the above mentioned feline parent, as I do not even know who the unfortunate wretch might be(that said, anyone is welcome to wear the shoe should it fit)). Be it on purpose or with malicious intent, it is their agenda and theirs alone. I to not entertain those loosers and reserve my comments to those that can deal with adult discussions.
It was actually a recent topic of discussion between friends and I, when I am out with the club, and for reasons of being a club, I would behave much more cautiously and reserved, as it is what the club want and I respect that. I would not have driven over Sakkie's vehicle if this was a Club Event, as that would have raised a question about the Club's integrity with regards to safety. As this was not a Club Event, though I still represent the Club in all discussions and actions, had an accident occur, it would be in my personal capacity and not with the Club. I thus formally would like to distance the Hilux 4x4 Club from any comment or repercussion to the picture above and they are absolved from any liability of any form stemming from this picture! :wth:
That being said and done - Yes you are correct, there is a possibility of Risk involved, but then again, every second out on a trail, there is a possibility of Risk involved. I am also sure the same kitten bearer would have a whole kindle if someone was to enter a decent to close to him, or if he is still on the decent, though on occasion this happens in order to get a better view of what the person in front of you is doing and in order for you to get an idea of what to expect going down the same decent. Again - Out with the Club, you would typically have spotters guiding you down a steep decent, but when driving in convey or covering a distance, this is not always the case.
I would like to end my retort (tongue in the cheek and not in any kitten bearing way) in anecdote - Calculated Risk is much more capable than any make, model or brand of vehicle we drive - An idiot behind the steering wheel of a Toyota or a Jeep is still an Idiot. Use of the brain and experience cannot be replaced by bearing an intrigue of kittens. Besides breastfeeding those must a female dog!
