SAVING FUEL 4Y (CARB)

Post by gasoline »

im posting this again to give others the oppertunity to save fuel too.
4y idel jets (carb) are electonically controlled to only shut off at revs that are above average speeds so you run rich alot of the time!
a simple modification lowers the idel jets cut off point and you save the fuel!

before mod.- 6km/l
after mod.- 8.5 km/l (Town driving)

Stephan thnx....Driving at any speed below 2250rpm you'er running rich because a 4Y carburetor is electronicly controled to run with its idel jet's fuel cut soleniod (FCS) open when below 2250rpm.This FCS is electronicaly controled by the emmisions control computor (ECC).

When you drive at 60 kph (legal speed limit) the revs are +_ 2000 rpm, which is below the set level of 2250 rpm, this is when a 4y runs rich!

To reduce this excessive fuel useage (carburetor) , dissconect the emmisions control computer (ECC) which governs the idel jet's fuel cut solenoid (FCS) to shut off only at 2250 rpm.Trigger the FCS with the vaccum switching valve (VSV) only, which will switch off the FCS at +_ 1400rpm and save that fuel!

I hope this makes some sense
