Re: 4y efi conversion
no keeping my 33's
had no problems with the normal 4y , so it will not be a problem with the efi motor

Re: 4y efi conversion
Johnathan, just a quick heads up on that GWM motor. The design is copied from the 4Y motor, but please do not think that Toyota parts will fit on it, as there is in certain parts a design change that will make it nessecary to get the OE part from GWM itself, but these might be few and far between.
Good luck with the project and enjoy the power. BTW the GWM 2.2 EFI motor produces the following specs:
Maximum Power (kW/rpm) 78kW @ 4600rpm
Maximum Torque (Nm/rpm) 190Nm @ 2400rpm
THE OE 4Y motor with Electronic ignition produced the following with a carb on:
Maximum Power (kW/rpm) 75kW @ 5200rpm
Maximum Torque (Nm/rpm) 182Nm @ 2400rpm
Also the GWM is redlined at 5000 rpm and cuts out on it, which is a lot shorter than the OE 4Y carb fed engines which had a redline @ 5600RPM but could be pushed above it should you had to.
Maybe you will be able to bypass that limiter with an aftermarket ECU, but the GWM motor itself doesn't like to be revved hard at all.
Just some info for you to use.
