Just be careful of the larger water crossing, the warning signs are there for a reason  I ended up on my belly there last time and need a small recovery... by a friend in a GW *cough* M

Yes, the water could be a problem with all the rain. Hope everyone have diff breathers on, I am putting mine in today. I have seen photos of guys passing on the left next to the fench, not that deep water. I don't like water, get see sick.

Tertius are you anticipating some serious river crossings on Saturday    .. Am going to the workshop today and will speak to Hoppy... So far no predictions for rain for the next week or weekend, so most of the water may have subsided by then... I will phone outrekpad in the week to find out about the water and rivers....

Have just spoken to Nico from Outrekpad... He reckons no problem about water... Their trail is mostly sand, there are a few small river crossings, but they have good runoff so the levels are low, and the one river that is a bit deeper, there is an alternate route if you choose not to drive through it... So all is good...

Stubs think a potjie may take a bit long to cook... Quite a few of us on the trail so it will take a bit longer, and I think most of us want to find a TV in the afternoon to watch the rugby... maybe some suggestions of a good place to go to watch the game nearby..

Thys see you are on form again.... still not prepared to share any info on the trail yet?

Hey Aunty Val... As things stand now we'll be there... I've done this trail a few times... not very demanding, but if there's enough water in the crossing and odd hole or 2, it can become very entertaining! There's a nice play hole right in front of the lapa, think the likes of Tiaan, Alan and Big Wheels  Stu will love... visible from the braai place nogals!

Tertius you need to be out of bed by about 6.30... have shave and shower, get dressed, start preparing breakfast for the family, and then give your wife coffee in bed so she can get up, get the kids dressed, sit down to breakfast, leave home by 7.30, so that you can reach us by 8.00 at the latest 8.30... Does that sound about right? Don't forget to feed the chicks :!: :!: :!:

Believe there is a sudden rush for diff breathers before the weekend :?: :?: :?: Okay also having some fitted... :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

Shaunmeizter... sorry you won't be able to make it, hope we see you at the next event...

Just for the record the Vigo's front diff does have a diff breather, it's a metal pipe that exits at the top of the housing, the metal pipe ends just above the diff and a rubber pipe connects on, the rubber pipe travels up behind the engine, where it terminates with one of those 1 way valves. The Vigo's rear diff is similar to the SFA and IFS.

BTW... Kim's going throttle me when she hears 8am at the gates! Oh %@#$... I'm dead!

Val, for you anytime! I've bought the parts I need, cost me R100... these being:

- 2 x 3/8 BSP threaded pipe connector (actually only need 1 on the Vigo)
- 2 x 8mm inline fuel filters
- 6 metres(maybe less) PVC transparent hose
- a handful of cable ties

Did it exactly the same on my SFA, never a days problems!

Hi Tertius

Remember my thread. We discussed it there:

SideKick wrote:OK. On my way to Fluidco, I notice Hyflo and decide to pop in there first.

They quote me, but also tell me to go to HoseFit across the street.

Go there and they're even cheaper.

8m 6mm reinforced clear hose R70.31
2 x Brass Hose Barb (1/8th BSP thread connector) R21.89
2 x Oetiker 2 ear hose clamp R13.11
Roll Thread Tape R3.42
2 x 6mm inline fuel filter (Midas) R30.00

Total for complete kit: R139.76

I put two of those kits together. One for me and the other one for Stubs that he is fitting now a year later :o:
