After an absence of 10-12 yrs I'm back into carp fishing....keen for an outing, especially if I need to use Low Range in the process

There's quite a few venues this side of the world:

Roodeplaat dam (conservation & Ntvl sides)
Rust de Winter
Roodekopjes (Ntvl & Denekruin)
Vaalkop dam
Bronkhorst spruit dam
Rietvlei

More to your side:

Aston Lake (Springs way on the N17)
Vaaldam

Just be careful as some venues aren't safe for camping, especially not Harties.

Check out http://www.Sealine.co.za" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; nice site, I'm on the forum there as well.

Rust de winter is "roughing it" a bit, but I like it that way ;-) But they have ablutions at least

Bronkies nice for camping apparently; I'm yet to check it out. The Ntvl side at Roodeplaat has been said to have some deep waters and one is almost guaranteed to hook some carp there. I'm thinking of giving it a go this Sunday morning early, will see how things go...
