HELP, 2012 2.7vvti 4x2 heritage edition double cab

Post by mrredm5 »

Hi Guys,

I am considering purchasing the above vehicle for R317 000.I have heard that the fuel consumption is extra ordinarily high.eg 550km per 80L.
This will be used as recreational vehicle mainly. :think:

Please shed some light on this vehicle particulary the fuel consumption or any other negative points..

Thanks

Welcome!

Me buy a 2.7 VVTi? NEVER!!!!!!!

When it was just launch I drove one for a brief moment in history - got a best of 6km/l on the open road.

Rather look at the 2.5 d4d - either 4x4 or 4x2. The 4x4 would be my first choice! AFAIK the 2.5's go for about the same money. The 4x4 is only SRX spec,ie no fancy mags, etc and the 4x2 looks just like the 3.0.

Good luck!

Take the v6, much more power and lighter on fuel

They don't steal the v6's, the components doesn't fit the Quantum

1KD=3.0
2KD=2.5

Nee my maat, jy moet weer dink.

Kry so 8km/l met hom want ek ry hom hard.

mrredm5, personally I wouldn't buy a 2.7. Rather look at a 4.0 V6, much better power, at the same or even better fuel consumption. Or get one of the diesels.

Kyk op voorblad van recent posts van mense wat kla van head wat kraak, of head gaskets gaan of iets in daai lyn. Ek moet eerlik wees. As ons Europa se skoon diesel kry, verander ek dadelik na diesel!

Yes if you look after it it will last,Problem is buying a diesel second hand not knowing how it was treated,I think that is why most people talk bad about diesels because they buy the ones that was driven hard and not maintained well

I drove a 2.7 vvti for almost 4 years now and can say that, that is one of the best engins ever build.
I drove really hard especially in the dunes and never had a problem.
After I swopped my normal air filter with a K&N filter my average consumption went from 6.8 km/L to 7.5 km/L, which is still a bit heavy but acceptable.

I am only driving my 4.0 V6 for a week now so I can't say much about it right now, apparently the consumtion will be the same or a little better ( I hope ).

But for that price I would rather buy the 4.0 V6, the performance is amazing.
