Steering/suspension problem on Spyker
Hi guys
We still have a small problem with Spyker, the bakkie that Wegry / Drive Out is giving away at the end of October. When I drove it up to Gauteng a few weeks ago, I experienced quite a violent shudder between 100 - 110 km/h. The wheels has just been balanced and aligned at First Aligment.
I spoke to a suspension specialist in Polokwane, a guy called Ronald. He said it might be one of three of four things.
- Tie rod ends
- Adjustable joint on the drag link
- Loose wheel bearing
- Knuckle bearings
My question is: Who in Joburg or Pretoria is a specialist on these kind of things that can help us? I need to sort it out in the next few weeks before we hand Spyker to its new owner.
Thanks!
Ali

Speak to Louis (4x4megaworldpta). He knows these vans very well.
Ons thing you could also have done is high speed wheel balancing especially if the vibration is at 100 to 110km/h.

Cassie beat me to it... 2 recommendations then...
I'd speak to Louise Zanoli of 4x4 MegaWorld in Menlyn Park(hope I got all the details correct!)
He is a member on the forum, and avid Hilux fanatic, if he can't help himself, he'll know who can!

Re: Steering/suspension problem on Spyker
Various,
Kingpin bearings worn, lower front shock bushes worn, draglink very bad. But, ultimatly, all four rims tested oval. I know it is new rims, but this caused a BIG vibration. I fitted my Hiluxe's rims and tyres after the all the other problems was fixed, drove and the vibration was gone.
