Re: so I went to the old car grave yard to shoot some old ca
These old cars always had character, something that most cars built nowadays do not have - they all look the same!
Those seem to be pictures of an old Plymouth and an Austin. Nice pics Val, got any more?

There was a sign that says he sells vehicles, I don't know what condition the ones are that he sells, but surely these really old ones can't be rescued.....hendrik.earle wrote:Very nice. This makes me want to start a new project again and restore one of these.
Cassie, what did you do, did you add more saturation to the image or a little bit more photo merge...

Thanks for the sharpening Andy..... sharpened it when the file was still humungeous..... and not after reducing the image size for the site...
Cassie if you are into HDR have you ever checked out Tray Ratcliffe's sight http://www.stuckincustoms.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. What programme do you use for HDR?..... I bought CS5 for that but find it a bit weak, and so got Photomatix Pro4.... much more options and sliders to work on the photo merges....

Re: so I went to the old car grave yard to shoot some old ca
Cassie, download photomatix and do a comparison between the 2... you can download it free to test it out, but then it has a watermark until you pay and register it... when I bought cs5 I was impressed with the HDR until I compared the 2 programmes... I think the range of sliders gives you tons more options... also when I have finished with them in photomatix, I sharpen and adjust them in bridge raw or photoshop....did you check out stuck in customs yet?

Re: so I went to the old car grave yard to shoot some old ca
I'm used to playing with PSCS5 and have hours and hours of tuts etc. so I feel at home with it. I don't get nearly enough time to really play with it unfortunately.vald wrote:Cassie, download photomatix and do a comparison between the 2... you can download it free to test it out, but then it has a watermark until you pay and register it... when I bought cs5 I was impressed with the HDR until I compared the 2 programmes... I also downloaded the Photomatix Pro version now and gave it a quick look. Looks very nice and powerful. Also had a look at that site you gave me the link to... he really knows his HDR

That is why I upgraded from windows 7 32bit to 64 bit and put in 16 gig of Ram.... I shoot in Raw and you can imagine merging 3-5 raw files in photomatix meant I had to close down most features on my computer including my music.... which is not good....for the brain.... enjoy photomatix it really is quite amazing...

Which version of Windows 7 did you install? The reason for asking is there is a limit to the amount of memery each can use....vald wrote:That is why I upgraded from windows 7 32bit to 64 bit and put in 16 gig of Ram.... Nice pics and subject Val. You mentioned there was a sign saying the vechiles are for sale. Is it voetstoets or with a RWC.Cause where I live, R1000 gives you a rwc and licence for the year without the vechile being present.
