Greetings
I am new to this forum, and have just recently taken posession of Toyota Hilux 2.7VVT-i Raised Body Raider s/c 2008 model.
I have had the vehicle for 3 months now and so far I am very satisfied with the quality, smoothness of the engine.
I am glad to be part of the Hilux family again.
Kind Regards
Arri

Welcome Arri
I had one of these, rolled it with 16000km's on the clock, fitted new cab and loadbin, sold it with 41000km's on the clock for a 4x4. I really miss it sometimes, especially when I'm in a hurry
What fuel consumption do you get?

Re: Newbie
Hi there
They are quite thirsty engins, but have ample powere 118KW , I currently get 7 to 9 km/l on a combined cycle but the engine is not properly run in even so I expect that it will change a little bit in the future, What amazes me is these bakkies have ample power and the new 2.7 is just a little bit slower that the 3.0 Diesel. So I settled for a petrol rather than a diesel because I had too many friend who messed up their turbo's by being rushed or forgetting to gibe it enough warm up time. I really want a Tundra V8 but I doubt if they'll fit our narrow roads.
So far the bakkie is a dream to drive , quite insited with all the neccessary but mot all the electronic gagets, It's rated for 1200kg so the leafs at the bake is a little stiff with stock suspension, buty then again it's a load baring work horse not a luxury sedan, Ground clearence is good, handling is very good for such high vehicle and I tested the ABS in the rain Today, and it dit it's job well.

Arri
I got a constant figure of 6.9km/l IIRC, but that with a rather heavy right foot. Best I ever got when tried really hard, was 8 km/l.
I "diced" a 3.0 D4D once from Potch to Klerksdorp, and he didn't pull away from me. On the uphills, yes, he pulled away slightly, but I caught up and we stopped next to each other at the robot in Klerksdorp
