Fortuner steering pump

Post by Petou »

We went on the Kwaggaskloof family outing last weekend.Seeing that its a fun drive we tried to get the most fun out of the route and ended up making "doughnuts"in a very muddy dam.Unfortunately i did not know that one should not turn the steeringwheel all the way and keep it there all the time as damage can be done to the steering pump.Well i now know that damage was done and need some advice.
Is it worth while to overall or is it beter to buy a second hand one?First price will obvious be to get a new one ,overall the old one and keep it as a spare.

My guess is that the price from the agents will force you to go the recon/second hand route.

Got a quote and a big surprise from the steelers.R3900 after discount.I thought it is not a bad price at all.Don't have a price on recon yet but secondhands are not available in Cape Town area on the 4.0l petrol.Aparently they are not the same as the diesel ones.
