AM Racing wrote:I have the D4D. How reliable is the throw out bearing vs the oem external clutch slave and what clutch would be used with this set up?
All parts on Howe Trow out can be replaced
o rings etc
But the guys in States and Aus doesn't have props with them
As to Clutch ... 2.7 Hilux or Old supra or 3 Ton Dyna Truck
all depends on the flywheel .

I know the guys usually use a totally different bellhousing to match the 1UZ to the manual box. If I'm correct what are the benefits of going the adapter route over the whole bellhousing?
My concern with the complete bellhousing is the quality. If its not made right it can be skew and cause damage and it can crack. Provisional pricing of the bellhousings is around R2500 depending who you get it from. So R590 is a great option. Flywheels around R2400. SO: That is almost the price of a motor :wth:
Mr B
my current box are a frankenstein (Old series) R154 with sfa R1fa case transfer (both top shift) running duals .
All Sfa Hilux can bolt up with these adaptor
The reason i'm prefering these adaptors are that the cast Belhousings
From suppliers around does have weak spots , crack , skew etc
Thats why i trust the factory auto belhousing
And its cheaper
