Advice needed, fix engine or sell as spares and replace?

Hi guys

I'm in a tight spot

Some of you might know my KZTE's head was broken in my last Moz trip

I bought a new after market head (bare, no valves etc.) + new gasket

In the tow back from Moz the old head with the stuff inside the head got trashed so I'll have to buy all the parts that go in/on a head as well

So now it seems I have 2 options:
(1) Get this KZTE engine fixed, I got a quote from Steves Auto Clinic for about R5000 labour to fix it + I have to buy required/missing spares
(2) Buy a 2'nd-hand D4D and install that, someone on this forum told me I should contact Japan Auto - they might be able to help me for about R18,000

Will I be able to sell my KZTE engine for spares? It has a Steves intercooler and chip... How much can I expect to recover from the sales as is?

Will a D4D fit my KZ double cab? Will it need expensive modifications?

My snorkel is installed on the passenger side, will this work with a D4D?

Advice please, I have too many unanswered questions...

For R18k, that's for the motor and maybe with a turbo alone, then the engine management system, gearbox, harness and many more ....It would not surprise me if you end up paying R100k to complete. If you have someone to complete the job.

Rather chat to Tokkelos 1 (Krugersdorp) on the Forum, he knows the KZ motor well.

what would i need for a "bare" head and how much would it cost?

all the stuff that was in and on the old head got smashed, they were on the back of the other bakkie and got thrown on the road

Keep it as original as possible - one day you want to sell and no-one wants a baster.

Headzone is a good place to shop for a new head and goodies , but first speak to Chopper he should have more than enough spares.
