SFA torque rod
I used this as a torque rod. Got it from a tractor shop for R300. Since installation, my Lux doesn't pull to the left when braking, and its much more stable. It swivels at the spring mount, and it's adustable
Don't look at the Bulbar bottom, still working on that

Sjoe! .... that's a monster TR! I like the fact that it has a ball joint!
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!

Re: SFA torque rod
Also had to remove TR with the Lexus conversion. Would it work if I cut the original, place a thickwall tube over it and weld in normal stance?

Re: SFA torque rod
Would work, but then I would rather cut the original in half, have both ends threaded (one LH thread and one normal RH thread) and have corresponding threads cut into a thick walled tube which would make it adjustable (like a turn-buckle).

Tx Andy, but surely there should only be a specific position for it, why adjustable? If in the stationary position should'nt that be where it should be?Mud Dog wrote:Would work, but then I would rather cut the original in half, have both ends threaded (one LH thread and one normal RH thread) and have corresponding threads cut into a thick walled tube which would make it adjustable (like a turn-buckle).

Ek sal maar bietjie gaan loer by die kooperasies. Ek hou ook van die balljoint idee. Anders gaan ek myne adjustable maak

Re: SFA torque rod
:wth: :wth:

Re: SFA torque rod
Adjustable is so much easier to set when the vehicle is standing at rest on a level surface. Also if at a later time you fit another bull bar and / or winch it can again easily be adjusted for optimum length.Ou vale1 wrote:Tx Andy, but surely there should only be a specific position for it, why adjustable? Do a search for "Torque rod" ... there are already a lot of posts / topics covering it's function etc.jan30 wrote:Jammer vir die vrae maar ek is nog 'n leek.

Re: SFA torque rod
Dit hou die as regop. As jy briek sonder dit, draai jou as vorentoe en trek teen die steering meganisme wat die wielle dan na links trek. as jy reverse en dan briek, sal dit na regs trek...
