When cold the power really comes on late and theres alot of spluttering, surely it shouldnt be so bad that your passangers comment on it?and even when warm theres like a dely of 1 second before the power comes on,not after spluttering! could has anyone had this prob?

Ok, water temp compensation is one of the important factors here... but there is another, often forgotten...
In terms of the cold start... look at the water temp compensation... but...
On delay in power delivery... you need to tweak the throttle pump compensation... under the compensation section... let's explain:
There are 4 settings:
1. Increase: the percentage of extra fuel to add on acceleration
2. Decay: how quickly the extra fuel is removed back to fuel map setting
3. Deadband: sets the sensitivity... how much throttle actives to throttle pump compensation
4. Deactivate Over: the load point over which the ECU will no longer look to add fuel in acceleration
How to set... hook up the laptop... take the vehicle for a spin... leave the last 3 settings on default: 19.6, 2.7, -0.37... set the 'Increase' value to something low like 10... test the acceleration... increase it to 20... test then 30... and so on... at some point, probably around 30-45 the acceleration delay will be gone/minimal...
The throttle pump compensation works exactly like it does on a carb, it adds extra fuel to smooth acceleration and pull aways... if the value is set too high the engine will tend to want to go and blog down...
Hope this helps...

Ok if there alot of spluttering, you might want to remove a little fuel at that specific load point... your problem could well be a mix of too retarded timing and overfueling(fuel map and throttle comp)... backup your present map and have a fiddle, if you get it wrong you can just revert... to last known good...
