Clattering noise from 2.5D4D Engine

Hello There

My first post as a new member. I have a 2007 Hilux 2.5D4D SRX D/C 4X4. Purchased on 42000 kms. Now approaching 60000 kms. I am experiencing a clattering noise from my 2.5 d4d engine. This noise is extremely prominent during the transition period between acceleration and decceleration. Just keeping the vehicle rolling along at a constant speed. It sounds like a cold engine.
Someone has suggested that I have the injectors tested as this seems to be a common problem with these vehicles. This noise has been steadily getting worse as time goes by.
As this vehicle is a recently aquired asset I am pretty worried about this noise. I do use 50ppm diesel fuel as recommended. I would appreciate any advice, observations and opinions that anyone might have regarding this subject. Is this a normal noise for these engines???

Seems strange, with your vehicle with only 60 000km on the clock but imo your diagnosis seems to be correct from the information provided.

I would take it to a Dealer and have it tested. The vehicle should be under warrantee, and I believe they will replace it.

I recently had mine tested by an independant service centre and foun one of the injectors out of spec. Had it replaced total cost including labour R4.5k....outch, but my van has 165000km. And it is the first one also use 50ppm.

I agree with Mark, take it too the local Toyota and see if it can be resolved under warranty.
