Re: Info Needed
Hi OP
I cross back and forth in Bots quite often, and I keep my SA plates on my car.
As long you are the registered owner of the car, you will need 110 Pula (in cash).. which is made of BWP20 one year permit, 40BWP for a one time entry permit (which is valid for the lenght of your stay) and BWP50 for short term third party insurance (valid for 3 months).
If you dont have cash, dont worry, most of the major borders posts have a bureua de change as you cross over from the SA
Some border posts are stricter than other but with fior the most part we get through without a hassle..
Just be careful about the amount of alcohol you bring with you (booze is major expensive here now, about R50 a sixpack of Hansa), they can sometimes get a bit sticky with that and tensd to confiscate it.
Most of the bigger border posts are now also 24hours ie Kopfontein/Tlokweng (take a right turn in Zeerust past Madikwe game reserve) or the border post just outside mafikeng on the N4

Re: Info Needed
We have just had a fuel increase last week.... 72 thebe p/l on petrol and 65 thebe p/l on diesel
New prices
1ltr unleaded BWP 6.20 (somewhere around there) = R6.70
1ltr diesel BWP 5.50 = R5.94
I cant remember the exact numbers but they are roughly around those levels

Yeah, not that heavily taxed this side... but then when u see the quality of some of the roads... you wouldnt mind paying a bit extra to get some better roadsShamrock wrote:Now thats unbelievable, and you get your fuel from sa!? :roll:Botswana Bob wrote:New prices
