Tyre sizes acceptable on new Vigo.
Hi there, I have a 2007 3.0L D4D Vigo 4X4 which comes standard with 255x70x15C Bridgestone Dueler HT Tyres, I want to fit decent offroad tyres and would like to know what size tyres on can consider (Metric or Imperial) that won't pose problems like body rub etc. I realise that fitting different sized tyres will affect speedo readings, gearing etc. however, currently when my Vigo's speedo is at 120Kph, the true speed is +-110Kph which indicates that the standard tyres are smaller than the vehicle was designed for due to the overreading, is that correct?
Any feedback and advice would be appreciated.
Regards
Jorge

Hi Balooziggy
I am running 31'x10,5xR15 Copper STT on my lux like you said the speedo is out with the standers tiers with the 31' it is much better 120km/h on the speedo equals 118km/h on the gps almost spot on.
The 31' should be fine under full articulation I know guys with standard suspensions and they have no problems with the 31'x10,5xR15 don't go wider than 10,5'.

Re: Tyre sizes acceptable on new Vigo.
I run 31x10.5x15 on 8j steal rims and they just just didnt clear, a small suspention lift did it for me, but i've seen, if u keep to the 7j rim they do clear well enuff, I havn't noticed a big difference on the speedo(i spend more time watching the feul gauge ) it maybe out by 5km/h with the bigger wheels "no biggy" i almost never go faster than the speedlimit

Re: Tyre sizes acceptable on new Vigo.
hi daar Frederik

Re: Tyre sizes acceptable on new Vigo.

Re: Tyre sizes acceptable on new Vigo.

Toyota Hilux Mk6 / Vigo Trux lift Hybrid lift suspension systems

Trux lift, the leader in Hybrid lift suspension systems, are the simplest and safest method of altering vehicle ride height, which also allows you to upgrade your tyres to a preferred larger size. Nothing looks better than a truck fitted with an aggressive stance and that is exactly what Trux lift Hybrid lift suspension systems provide!
Trux lift Hybrid lift suspension systems has used their proven technological engineering methods to produce a Hybrid Suspension Lift System for the 2005-2010 Toyota Hilux mk6 / Vigo that lifts the truck 2.75"-3.0". NOTE: Our objective is to have your truck sit level or slightly below level. Each truck is different so the amount of lift achieved may vary between 2.75" and 3.0" in the front. Measurements on some customer's trucks have revealed as much as 1.0'' difference in the factory front end height.

Will never wear, break or fail
Toughest finish
Safest way to lift
Maintains your factory ride
Includes OEM Style cast iron rear lift blocks protected by black E-coating to last the life of your Toyota Hilux / Vigo
Differential drop brackets provided for use with 4WD models to lower the differential and maintain factory CV angles
Steel upper strut extensions are the strongest on the market and are designed to position the strut alignment properly with the control arm and upper frame mount
This is a complete suspension lift kit that includes a powder coated steel strut extension, front differential drop bracket, skid plate spacers and a 1-inch rear lift block. Re: Tyre sizes acceptable on new Vigo.

Ek gaan vir my 'n volle tjm suspensie insit oor so 10 000km.
