I had a call last night from my brother in law about sat phones. he wanted to know how these things work, where to ge thold of the handset is not really the problem, but he does not seem to be able to find out where to go to "get connected".
I know it would not be as easy as walking into Pep and buying a R19.99 Ayoba Goggo Pay as You Go simcard and hey-presto your voice is bouncing off he satelites. Is there anybody out there who knows who the service providers are? How one goes about connecting? More or less what these connections would cost, and an approximate idea of costs per call/minute/second?

Re: Satelite Phones
Correct I hired mine from Vodacom, was expensive but cheaper than buying it.
Few other companies do it to.
cheers
