KZTE Intercooler

Post by Gertc »

a Friend of mine asked a local diesel Specialist to fit a inter cooler and chip to his 2005 KZTE.

The guy came back and said that sac don't want to fit a inter cooler in front of the radiator because the KZTE tends to overheat.

Anyone that can help with this?

Hi Gert

Geskat is hy so 70mm dik, 300mm hoog en 500mm breed.

hi, i was told the same thing, did you perhaps find out a way to move the SAC cooler out of the way without compromising radiator air flow?

Just remember if you fit a intercooler you really need to get a chip as well.
It will just make sure that you can make use of the intercoolers abilities properly :)

I did my stage 1 in 2 steps.

1) Intercooler + ECU chip. <- This was the most expensive part
2) Free flow + Sport flow air filter.

Marty,

did your fuel consumption improve?

What did it cost?

Johan, fuel consumption did improve. But not by as much as you would think. But having more power got this side effect... u have it so you want to use it... using more power takes more juice.

So in short drive as before... you save a few cents. But having the extra power... I tend to have a heavy foot. *grinz*
But if you would ask me if I would do it all over again, I would tell you no.
Rather go for something like a snorkel. Does not give you the same but it gives you a little and does not have the side affect of reducing your approach angle.

All and all set me about 13k back. :(
