My '03 Hilux 4x4 is in remarkable shape considering its age, but the door panels looked pitiful.
I wanted to use Duplicolor interior spray paint , but could not find a source here in Colombia. Spray paints are considered "dangerous cargo" and cannot by shipped by air from the US. A friend recommended that I use an airbrush and get a local auto paint store to match the interior color. Instead, I bought a small detail paint spray gun. Bought the color-matched paint and sprayed it . Disassembling the panels, cleaning them, and masking off the fabric insert was a lot of work, but the finished results were excellent.

Interior looks brand new.

But will that paint stick in the long term??
I have been toying with the idea of changing my interoir (Ceiling and panels leading to the ceiling) )colour to black, but I need some paint that will stick permanently

I used PINTUCO " Pintura Profesional de Vinilo Automotriz" paint. Made in Colombia. The guy at the paint store told me it was the best interior paint available. Pricey, but the finished result made it worth it. He also sold me a can of vinyl prep solvent. He told me to wash the panels thoroughly using dish soap and kitchen degreaser, and after they dried to wipe them down with the prep solvent. The paint has been on the panels for a few months and still looks as good as the day I sprayed it.

I'm certain other brands have similar paint in their lines that will probably look and wear well. Good luck.
