Hi,

I would like to know what's the deepest water you can go through with a 2005 Toyota Hilux Double V6?

Thanks
Mark

A standard wading depth of 700mm is pretty damn good, but really, don't go deeper than the bottom of the rear axle housing without breather extensions! ;-)

Het ene gekry. Kyk hier .... viewtopic.php?f=93&t=16855&p=203075" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Here is the best advise anyone can give you: Stay out of the water. and I speak from experience. I can give you thousands of reasons why to stay out and only a hand full of when it might be required to go in.

But it is nice to play in the water

My feelings excisely! :D: ... Off the top of my head, there's alternator, wheel bearings, clutch release bearing, a host of electronic gadgetry and interior carpet / upholstery that don't like water - particularly if it's muddy. Radiators also don't fare well if there is no visco fan, or the visco fan doesn't have enough slippage. Although crankcases have breathers, they are normally at a slightly negative pressure while the motor is running, so if the crank seals are not in good nick you could draw a little water in there. Gear boxes and X-fer cases are not always ventilated, so these can also draw water in through the seals with submerged rapid cooling.

Avoid water crossings unless necessary ;-)

Thys,
