BF Goodrich muds

I found these to be very slippery on rock faces (I'm not talking of loose dry rocks) on the Extreme Challenge obstacles at Serendipity, where the little stream runs. Was this a fair judgement for these tyres? I know they're of a hard rubber compound which may be expected.

Got the exact same on a few other places... Wet rock not good... The khumo's did better... way better...

What was the tyre pressures? Kumho has much softer sidewalls than BFG Muds, therefore at the same pressure will outperform the BFG every time.

I have not experienced this with my BFG Muds?

BFG muds will be sightly slippery on a hard wet surface. The rubber compound is harder then those softies. , but also will not be punctured so easily then.

Tyre pressure was 1.6 kPa

1.6 is still very hard and wont give you lots of traction. On slippery surfaces you need to get the footprint as big as possible to ensure max traction. I run the BFG's on the Jeep at 0.5 on wet/slippery surfaces and can go down as low as 0,3 without running the risk of damaging them. But his is only done in extreme cases.

Had the same experience at Gert se Klip (De Wildt). Morning drive went well, but after a few rain drops it was a different scenario. I had to give way to nature after almost loosing it. Tyre pressure was at 0.7.

Jip .....om BFG's you need to deflate some more.....

On Tar my pressure is between 2.5 and 1.5 bar, depending on distance traveling and the comfort level required. ..........SFA.

Off Road between 1 and 0.5 bar, depending on whether it's bad gravel rd, rock or sand.

I abuse the Vark, but never had a puncture since fitting this set of BFG MUD's in 2007.
