I have seen a few cars dipped in KZN via a company called wicked dips.

They did a hilux in matt army green and it looked really cool.

Not sure what damage will or could be done to your paint work though.

No damage to the paintwork, assemetterefeck it might even protect it from scratches and stone chips and even sunburn to a certain degree. This is a "looks only" package, and is not a permanent solution, as it will deteriorate over time, and will be damaged by branches etc scratching against the car when you drive off road...

But it is easy to remove, and re-apply, or even to touch up panels that got damaged. It is very popular in the USA where people go nuts with it, on wheels and entire vehicle bodies. Problem is that it is quite expensive to get hold of in SA... :silent:

If somebody wants to sponsor me I will do the Jeep in Olive Drab...

If it is looks you are after, go for it...

We have a Corsa, 1999 with 116000 km, that after a @#%& respray job, is looking ready for the scrapyard.
It is flaking, fading and rusting all at the same time.

Was looking for a cheaper alternative to a full body respray, as I don't have R 25 000 to do it.

What about those vinyl stickers they put on? The dip process sounds like more work than vinyl.

AFAIK Plasti Dip gives you a mat finish - very nice on a 4x4 !!
for a more traditional gloss finish look at vehicle wrapping - looks amazing !
