I am looking to gear down a more modern Hilux, 2006(or could be newer). All of the aftermarket transfer cases, etc. that I see are for 1995 or older.
That being said, I don't need anything extreme, so if I wanted to gear down what might one recommend? I will be pulling a lot of weight at very low speeds
(6 to 12 KMhs on average).
Where might I start?

Re: Gearing down a Hilux - Best Options?
Welcome Brad!
If you're not doing much off-road driving, then the first thing would be to look at the tyre / wheel sizes ... smaller diameters will drop the gearing a fraction. The next option is swapping out the diffs for higher ratios (if it's a 4x4 you have to do both), which could be a more pricey exercise. Otherwise you may be able to get an after market X-fer case that will bring the gearing down or even fit crawler gears.
Th X-fer case might be the best option if not the cheapest, because it will leave you with your standard gearing for normal use (when you are not towing heavy loads).
