What size Tyres for 3.0 d4d with Efs suspension?

Post by riaan hassim »

Hi all.... I've got a hilux d4d double cab. Fitted Efs suspension last week and got 265/70/16 bf Goodrich Tyres.
Tyres are Good for another 30k kms . What tyre size could I go for when I do replace?
Any other brand to consider ? Need an AT tyre.

Thanks

If Auto stick with more or less the std size. The Auto gearbox on the D4D doesnt handle the change in ratios with bigger tyres so lekker.. Legend 40 or not...

They will probably work. At least they will "fit" but the gearbox will start hunting... Rather go for 265/75x16 in stead of the 265/70x16 you have as standard. That was the advice I got from the guys in the know... I also wanted to go bigger or go homer...

You need a 4" / 100mm lift to fit 285/75R16's in a Hilux - there is a huge difference between the 285 and the 265

I've got 265/75R16 Maxxis 764's on my Fortuner and the work great with a 75mm lift... but with the wider rims, they still touch at full lock
