KZTE to 2.5 SRX
Hey guys
I am selling my KZTE and thinking of a 2.5 SRX DC 4x4
Main use will be for hunting, KZ is killing me on fuel (6km/l)
My question is, is this a good upgrade choice? Its about all i can afford. I am selling my KZ fully kitted and will have R160 000 available to spend on new vehicle.
I just want to know the pros and cons and what you guys think.
Thanks
oh and one more thing: what is the difference between the 2.5 SRX and the 2.5 SRX D4D?

Re: KZTE to 2.5 SRX
Couple of people here with the 2,5 SRX D-4D.
HAPPY with mine.
It is very underpowered compared to the other diesels on offer today. Thus many add an intercooler and chip.
I have a high canopy on and we often carry about 700 to 800kg. averaging about 8,5km/l including off road driving. Without the off road part I easily get over 9km/l. ONCE got over 10km/l, but that was one long and SLOW drive.

Re: KZTE to 2.5 SRX
IIRC the KZTE is much stronger
KZTE POWER 85 KW TORQUE 315 NM
2.5 POWER 75 KW TORQUE 200 NM

Re: KZTE to 2.5 SRX
I have a 2,5 for 5 years now, very underpowered! Take it for a test drive before you buy. I fitted a chip & intercooler and I'm very pleased with the power. There is no difference between the D4D and SRX. All Toyota's diesels is named D4D in this range. You only get the Raider spec (more luxuries) and the SRX(more base model) The Raider usually comes standard with white bumpers and the SRX with black, a lot of people change the black bumper to white.
There is a lot of other differences between the Raider & SRX. like mags, foglights, chrome mirrors etc.
I love my 2,5 and it gave me 252 000 worry free km's and still going strong.

Re: KZTE to 2.5 SRX
I was given a new 2.5 to drive for 2 days and I will rather drive my KZ power wise. If chipped an IC'ed it miht be a dfiffrent matter.
Definately test drive it before you buy.

I think the 2.5 is a bit underpowered and might be heavier on fuel.
