KZ-TE Airsprings/Loadhelpers
So this past weekend I installed a set of firestone ride-rite air helpers. My set of medium Mikem leafs were struggling a bit under the weight of the full alu canopy and 130L of diesel. But they give a fantastic supple ride.
The install is a fairly simple job to do. Comes with step by step instructions.
Part number from airspring supply company is LS-5043.
High quality product and would recommend it to anyone. Still playing around with the amount of air to get a optimum setting.

Hou die draad so bietje op hoogte asb as jy nou al bici rondgery en gespeel het. Ek dink al lank aan so iets vir my KZ maar kon nog nie mind/ budget opmaak nie...

Sal verseker die draad aan die gang hou. Ry tans op 1.2bar. Bakkie staan lekker hoog en ry glad nie sleg nie. Gaan hom wel bietjie sak na 1.1 - 1.0 bar toe. Die lugsakke is baie soepel so dit eet maklik stampe en houe op sonder om hard te voel. Tans is 25km nog bietjie min om ordentlike terugvoer te gee.
Jy kan hulle kry by airspring supply company of via 4x4 direct. Budget so hier by R4k rond. Al sny/boor werk wat ek moes doen was die 2 gaatjies vir die valves. Sommer langs die agterste nommerplaat ingesit.
NS. Jy kry ook 'n plaat wat die exhaust se hitte afkeer vanaf die lugsak af. My exhaust kom kort duskant my regter agterwiel uit "hoppy style". So e het nie daardie probleem nie.

Ek het die airsprings op my Vigo laat installeer omrede ek 'n Jurgens Safari sleep en as ek deur 'n knik gaan dan "bottom" die suspensie ietwat. Nogals nie 'n lekker ervaring nie. Ek het sommer vir my 'n onboard compressor laat installeer en kan gevolglijk die druk vanuit my bakkie kontroleer. As ek normaalweg rondry ry ek so tussen 0.5 en 1.0 bar. As ek die Explorer haak, pomp ek hom so 4.0Bar. Maak 'n wesenlike verskil in die sleep van my karevaan. Sal nooit weer daarsonder sleep nie.
Weet egter hie of mens werklik 4x4 voordele daaruit kry. Miskien omrede ek 'n enkelstasie het wat beteken dat die druk op beide my achterste airsprings verhoog of verlaag. DInk as mens die stasies kan split en dalk vir jou linker en regter suspensie onafhankelijke drukversillle kan toepas sal daar dalk meer 4x4 voordele wees. My bakkie het wel ietwat gelig na die installatie en as ek hom styf pomp kry mens nog hoër lift.
Beslis die moeite werd as jy 'n vrag laai/sleep!

Jy kan 'n ekstra valve bestel wat die twee sakke koppel. Dit gaan vir jou massiewe artikulasie gee aangesien een sak se lug oor kan beweeg in 'n ander sin in. In die selfde asem kan dit vet body roll veroorsaak in 'n draai met 'n vrag as die valve oop is. Ek beplan om nog myne so te link.

Byna 3 maande later is ek steeds mal oor die air helpers. Die goed werk vrek lekker. Onlangs 'n trippie sederberge toe gehad en die kappie vol gelaai en 5 mense binne plus 130l diesel. Helpers opgepomp tot 2.3bar. Bakkie staan mooi level met vrag. Fantastiese rit. Selfs kwaai sinkplaat maak my nie meer krapperig nie. Daar was ook so een driffie waar daar perongelik teen 80km/h 4 wiele in die lug was... ook geen probleem. Sal egter nie gou weer dit try nie.

Ek oorweeg dit beslis ook. Kan dit afblaas om voertuig by die garage in en uit te kry, aangesien die RTT dit net net maak
