I gave my old Hilux some new shoes on Saturday. I had the old tyres on for 8 years so it was time for an upgrade
Fitted a set of the new General Grabber X3's, 33x12.5R15 3 ply. They look good, now I need to go test them offroad

Looking good Andrew, and I think the Grabbers are the best bang for your buck IRO a decent quality off-road tyre.

I'd be curious to know what you had on before and how the road noise compares to the old tyres.

Those Grabbers are nice, I have them on my Jeep as well. Very little road noise and awesome offroad performance...

Andy, I had Kumho Road Venture MT 33x12.5R15's on before. Will give a report back once I have a chance to test them.
Here they are side by side (Kumho looks a bit smaller, but it's a 2 ply tyre and sidewalls are softer so it sags a bit under it's own weight)

Well I got a chance to test the new Grabber X3's last weekend in some wet ground/mud/clay, at
Crockerts Hope play area (
https://web.facebook.com/pg/crockertsho ... e_internal) and came away extremely impressed.
Awesome traction and I was able to crawl out of all obstacles without any slip or lockers needed.
Ran them at 1 bar pressure.

Those 33" Grabbers are still on "Sifu-Lux" ...... my observations are that they don't wear so well on tar, (but then what MT tyres do), and that the treads get choked up quite quickly in mud, especially if it has a clay content. Road noise is also a bit on the high side.
That said, the Grabbers are still good bang for buck.
