D4D Reliability

Post by Neg10 »

Greetings all.
hope you are well?

I have a V6 4x2 Manual. i used to live 5km from work and now i live 35km..fuel is very heavy with the V6. i am looking to move over to a diesel Auto Fortuner.
a few questions,
How reliable are the D4D engines? can i buy from just about any dealership and know ill be ok? or are there issues and buying from a bigger dealer is best? is it safe to buy a vehicle privately etc...

What is the difference in fuel consumption between a 4x2 Manual and the Auto?

then is the 4x4 Auto vs the 4x4 Manual much heavier on fuel over the 4x2. i know it will be but by how much?

Then does any one have a clean car for sale? Please contact me- zero 834144067
Thanks Guys.

The D4D is super reliable. Over 317 000 ks I got an average of 9.8 km/l in my 3lt D4D 4x4 DC Manual. I sold it to my wife’s cousin and he has now done 450 000 ks. The automatics are a little heavier on fuel.
