Suspension Lift

Post by MattSH »

Howsit from DownUnder.

I am sure this topic is well covered somewhere, however I cant get a straight answer to I am going to ask here.

I've got an 03 Hilux (IFS front end). I am considering installing a two inch lift kit (rear springs and shocks are showing their age, and most new springs are for a two inch lift). My question is how do I go about raising the front to match the new springs in the rear? My understanding is that you cant lift an IFS suspension with torsion bars due to wheel alignment issues and a harsh spring rate. Is this true? I am only going to lift the front end roughly 30mm (I've heard going to 50mm definitely has issues). Has anyone tightened their torsion bars and what results did they have? Will a 30mm lift on the front cause too much trouble and not be worth it?

Thanks in advance
