It's with a sad heart...

Post by Legendary »

Good Evening All,

I have not been very active on the forum for some time and its with a very sad heart that my next post will have to be in the Sales forum...

I enjoyed 2 outings in the past with Club Members (many years ago) and wish I had been in a position to do many more.

As we feel the pinch of the economy and the fact that school fees and life in general is just ridiculous I'm going to have to sell my beloved Legend.

The reason for my post here first is because I haven't been as active as I wish I could have (work commitments and traveling for work had left me with little time to both, be an active member and make 'proper' use of the vehicle) hence posting a discussion before the sales ad.

As I know very little about the exact value of my vehicle as I can't seem to find any for sale online at the moment, I was hoping for some assistance in pricing this correctly as not to have the vehicle for sale for too long as well as not loosing out on money.

This forum will have first opportunity as I will only post the vehicle on other websites once I'm sure no one else here would like to purchase it. I know the people in the club will look after her properly....

The vehicle specs are as follows:
2004/5 Toyota Hilux Legend 35
Double Cab 2.7 petrol 4x4
179 000km's
White
Fairly new 9.5' tyres

Additional extras:
Front Runner Roof rack
Alu canopy (Homemade)

I 'look forward' (not really) to hearing your thoughts on pricing.

Your in 4x4'ing

Hi Guys,

Please see images below of the van.

There was a bumper bash with a taxi on the front left hand side facing the vehicle.

Stupid taxi was trying to jump start his cab in reverse and didnt stop in time. This is much of an issue to fix up (most of the guys replace the front plastics anyway).

I have done a lot of research on the vehicle and what is out there at the moment and have got a figure that i would like to ask for. Would still like to hear your thought before i post in the For Sale section.

Thanks

Rob

For a quick sale, I would offer you R100 000.

For that price Rob would have to take the booster cables out from under the passenger seat. :D:

Rob, the best way to gauge the price is to look on the internet as to what the average price for a vehicle like yours sells for. Use the common sights like gumtree, olx, junkmail, etc.

The bumper bash looks a little nasty and will knock you down in price.
Try and get a heat gun, heat the area up gently and push it out from the back. When all seems to be looking ok place a wet cloth over the area to cool it which will stiffen the area again.
The left hand side bumper looks like it has left over paint from a bash as well. You can get a scouring pad from Midas. Use water on the pad and rub the paint of. Use a little thinners on a cloth if the pad doesn’t work well. There after use a colour magic polish to buff it well, from Midas also.

Doing the little things enables you to get thousands extra on the sale price.

I hope things work out well for you. Take care.

Thanks Ricky, the advise goes a long way and would help many people in the same situation.

I will definitely be attempting this over the coming weekend.

I am going to post the Hilux on the 'For Sale"section this evening and hoping to make the sale as quick as possible. I have had a few offers from We Buy Cars and Weelee (as well as Thabogrobler cash offer) so i think i have a good base line to work from.

Hi All, so I have posted the Lux in the Vehicles for Sale section.

It's at a reduced rate at the moment due to the front bumper damage.

If anyone who was interested previously please let me know or make an offer.

I need to move the vehicle soon so will have to post on Auto Trader soon.

I would love for someone here to pick it up, then I know she is being looked after.
