Frontrunner 70 liter fuel tank

Post by johanvb »

I recently had a Frontrunner fuel tank installed...above the spare wheel..

Question...when I refuel the vehicle...which tank fills up first? Main or auxiliary?

Thanks

Depends.

If they fill it up on fast setting, rear tank first.
If they put the pump on slow, standard tank first.

Its got a Y piece now in the filler pipe.

Agree and you auxiliary tank is a bit higher than your standard tank and connected via a small balancer unit. Your fuel gauge will stay on full for quite a while. The y piece (in my vehicle) is very close the tank filler hole and they both are connected to the breather pipe and fills quite quick. When I fill up at a new garage the tenant usually looks under the vehicle for any leaks as soon as he pass the normal 70 or 80 litre mark.
