Need advice on how to sell my 96 Hilux.

Post by R K Steve »

Unfortunately I have decided to sell my 96 Hilux - lock, stock and barrel. :( I don't want to go into the reason why I am doing this as it is very personal.

It is fully equipped (roof tent, fridge, water tank, jerry cans, ammo boxes etc.) and more or less ready to go.

I had it on Gumtree for a month with all the info and lots of pics. There were a few hundred hit but no-one was really interested.

Is Gumtree perhaps the wrong place to sell this type of vehicle ? (that is where I found it !)

Was it perhaps the wrong time of the year ?

If anybody can give me advice on how and where to sell my Hilux I would be most grateful.

@2.8 d/cab SFA - yes, I have also heard that Autotrader is a better option.

@zepplin - started at 120k and reduced by 5k each week.

If you have a single Cab then I would say Gumtree, because there is huge interest for the single Cab. Sold mine withing 2 hours of listing on Gumtree, for other Car, I would always use Autotrader, AA Autobay, 4x4community and Hilux forum.
