Fraud on Hilux odometer

It looks like I am not having joy with my baby.
1. First they stole her 8 days after I got her
2. They found the Hilux and the insurance fix her up better than new

Now this is where the problem started
1. When I went to get a new service book from Toyota they told me that my vehicle was serviced on 189000km in 2010/03/02
2. I bought the Hilux with 163000km.

Now what do I do???????????????

Dis maar sleg, wat ek sou doen is om die bewyse te vat na die handelaar/persoon na waar jy hom gekoop het en dit an hom voor te le. Vra dan vir hom wat hy voorstel hy sal doen om dit reg te stel, as hy nie moeite wil doen nie, se dan vir hom wat jy wil he. n Paar rand terug vir kompensasie of so iets. My Skoonpa het ook n Toyota gekoop en toe later uitgevind dat die km's terug gedraai is, hy het die handelaar gedruk om R10 000 aan hom terug te betaal.

Ek sou se vat hom terug en vra jou geld terug. Sleep die CPA hierby in. Handelaars kan in groot akkies kom as hulle sulke goed doen en as nou die bewyse het.....

I had a problem like that once, and yes it was a Toyota dealer in PTA, they replaced the vehicle with a much newer one, no questions asked.

Had the same issue with a KZTE I bought; told the dealer to send his driver to come fetch it. Still tried to argue until I produced the evidence; got my deposit back. Bank had no issue cancelling the HP (fortunately they haven't paid the dealer yet).

Just ask your money back OR a newer vehicle for the same price...

I think a lot of times they, the dealers have no clue of what they are trading in, if it is difficult for me and you to prove the mileage has been tampered with, how are they gonna prove to you that the mileage is true. Unless you find out by accident that the mileage has been tampered with. But I'm sure a lot of the times they do know and try to sell it without anyone ever finding out.

Or you get some clever okes with fancy computer programs and funny plugs that can set the milage to exaclty what you want them to.

Service history is the first clue, but most dealers should be able to draw an HPI or Transunion report with the VIN #.

Search for "KZTEasy come easy go" on the forum, IIRC I posted the report on there. Not sure how it works but I suspect everytime an application for HP is done or when an enquiry for settlement is done on the vehicle it is logged on a database with the mileage at the time A guy from Inspectacar did one for me last time

yes scary, dealers lazy to verify. When i was in botswana the importers turn back the electronic milage easy.(silly man ask told me if i wanted to sell older 4x4 he would turn back the mileage for me?)
