A pic or three - what do you think of them?

Post by Dodging »

I've entered these three pics for our August entries at our camera club (How geeky can you get huh? )

I was just farting around a bit with this pic and came up with this (Not quite sure if I like the effect or not):

Image

This one I like. Difficulty in this shot is always depth of field

Image

I'm not quite sold on this one - execution was OK bit it kind of lacks punch

Andre

I am by no means a PRO or anywhere near there, but I like the effect of the first photo. The close-up on the second one is also good.

I think (in my humble opinion) that if the car in the third one was at more of an angle it would have had more "punch"!

Just my 2c worth.

I think you've nailed the reason why I don't quite like it - the car's too straight... Driver's fault

I think they are all great but agree that the 3rd photo the car was not the correct angle but that Skyline is one of my dreams to own. Well done.

some nice pics.

in pic three the rims capture "just enough" movement, combined with the blurred back ground and sharp focus of the vehicle. Technically I prefer no 3, yet the composition of no 1 is better.

having said that, I take my hat off to you for some NICE pics !!

It takes some skill and LOTS of patience to get these pics.

Ja that's always the thing when I go to events like these - I tend to go for the "money-shot" where you can see movement on the vehicle. Gets a bit tricky as I know my shutter speed is very low. End of the day you get about one out every fifty that are very good and one out of 200 which VERY good.

Too easy to just set the shutter speed at 1/500 or faster and snap away, plus the vehicles are frozen

Yup - I've got Photoshop CS5

When you open a pic in Camera RAW, you can choose how saturated a colour must be. Nifty tool that. I've still got to go through my training videos to get the most out of it

All good pics, i don't like pics that are over shopped, just a little or no correction does it for me.
