slegte idee! Powdercoat eerder of gaan stainless steel.

Hot dip galvanising and then powder coating over it. Most hollow steel work starts to rust from the inside - paint doesn't get there to protect it but hot dip will. the powder coat will help to protect the galvanising from being scratched, and even then, it takes an awful lot to scratch through hot dip. ;-)

Galvinising will stop it from rusting but it will look crap. Paint/powdercoating wil make it look great, but over time and after travelling on dirt roads a lot stones will chip the coating off. In that case paint is the best because you can patch it up yourself, whereas with powdercoating you'll need them sand blasted and recoated...

Sal klippers hom chip?
I feel a lot less wise at 45 than I did at 15.

There is no substitute for hot dip galvanising, period. The problem with galvanising however is that painting it requires proper preparation and an effective etch primer, otherwise it will just flake off. But yes, painting is an option besides powder coating, and Hammerite can be sprayed .... just get the Hammerite thinners (Acetone does work as well but you have to use or discard all that you have thinned with it, otherwise it curdles ... you can't put it back to the tin).

Painting alone will result in rust inside the pipe where you cannot get a paint coating.

;-)
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
