Your DIY tips on heatshields for cab and fuel line..Please.
Howday
I've been wanting to put some reflective wrap around my fuel line. The hose is running about 50mm from my exhaust system all the way into the engine bay(apparently a couple of layers of heavy duty Tin Foil works 100%).
The heat actually causes vapour lock when driving long slow trails. At first I thought it was a Dirty Fuel Filter or Pump problem, but the Swartvark runs perfectly on open roads and on the dunes where it gets more air at faster speeds.
I also want to do something about the floor getting hot because of exhaust etc..........
ANY DIY tips from you guys???........or must I just go to Midas and buy something off the shelf?

Tiiaan, I used asbestos matting under my floor mats in my previous 2.4 petrol, 1994 D/V.
Yes I have read the previous thread about the dangers of asbestos poisoning, but the asbestos mat is completely covered by the vehicles floor mat. There is no chafing and the asbestos mat is not a open to release any asbestos mplecules. It worked for me without any visible after effects. I still have an asbestos car port roof which is covered with paint & gets a fresh coat everytime the rest ofthe house gets painted.
