Sponge for cameras

Post by Whisky »

I am thinking thereof to place sponge in an ammobox in which I would be storing my cameras when on the road. I have looked at the different type of sponge. The normal firm sponge is R260.00 and the high density (black or grey) is R500.00 for the job I want.

Somewhere on this forum or another some-one has done it and for the life of me I cannot find it. He used the high density sponge.

Has anyone used the normal firm sponge and if so did you experience any problems i.e. does it eventually go brittle, give off sponge particles which could be harmful to my cameras, etc.?
