Die Hel

Post by Rebel 4x4 »

Some of you might remember the trip report competition I entered. One of the places I visited was The Hell (Gamkaskloof). Straight after that trip, we decided to book (to stay in The Hell). So we took this opportunity over the long weekend.

We were two Jimny's and once again the long weekend played out really nice.

We stayed over in the house called 'Sankie Marais', who was the original owner of the house. Here are some photos of the trip.

Nice pics and thanks for sharing them with us Thomas.
I also traveled up the lower section of the Swartberg Pass and visited Die Hel last July.
We also intended traveling the upper Swartberg Pass after exiting Die Hel but the road was being repaired as recent flooding had caused major storm damage to the road .
Hopefully I can complete the pass again soon and explore area north of the SwartbergPass as I understand that the pass is again open.

The local farm stall which one of the decedents great grandchild lives is also amazing. Some items such as grapes in Witblits, Ingelegde Turksvye and proper m03r koffie is just a few of the nice things to enjoy.

In the evening the skies are open with lots of stars and it is spectacular with a fire going.
