Rear leafspring upgrades

Hi Guys.

My name is Gerhard and I love my Hilux.

I need some advice....

Once I load up all my gear for a teip I tend to run the bumpstops quite often.
What would be the best option to get more stability?

Thanks in advance.

You could fit some air-helpers which would work better for the differing loads (all your camping kit vs no load). The other option is to fit an extra blade in the rear leaf packs but it's going to be stiff when you have no load.

I was told both options reduce the articulation?

That is true, the extra blade perhaps a little more so. But they are the lesser evils ..... if you keep bottoming out it's only a matter of time before you incur some damage.

Try super springs, they won't effect your articulation.

Hi Gerhard. I had a Superspring set for two years without any problem. Made no different on my pick-up articulation or hard riding. At the beginning of the year I had upgrade to whole complete new rear spring system. Two year ago my finance didn't allow me for new set and I had go for the superspring. So if you are interesting to buy mine which is 700 kg, you can have it for R1800.oo. New one cost R2800.00 for 500 kg load and R2900.00 for 700 kg load. Both excluded VAT. PM me if you are interested in it.
