Load Proportioning Valve adjustment after suspension lift

Post by 3RZ »

Has anyone actually adjusted the brake load proportioning valve after doing a suspension lift ? I got 50mm lift with the Ironman suspension on my 2.7 and in theory you are supposed to lift the LPV arm with the same amount to keep the brake bias the same as what it was before the lift but I cannot lift the arm as it is in it's maximum upward position already.

Willem,

Bennie added an extra length to that threaded bolt on Bulldog. We removed the standard adjuster bolt and took it to a Bolt & Nut centre to match the thread and lock an extra piece on. Then you just cut the head off the new bolt. Works like a charm!

I used a plate to extend mine. Drilled some holes and now its 100 mm from where it was.

I already have a plate made up, the problem is the LPV arm is already in the highest position, I cannot move it up by the 50mm it is supposed to go up. The brakes seem fine though, I have dropped it slightly but then you can feel that the brakes are not as efficient.

More Blom. Is it one of those manually adjustable LPV valves that looks like a tap.

Ek sal hom more bel en se hy moet fotie oplaai!

Dis min of meer hoe ek voel as ek maandae oppad is werk toe :)

I think it is best to adjust the valve and testing it on wet tarmac. You don't want the rear to break away when braking in wet conditions
