EFI-22R
I want to do a Efi coversion on my 22R(2.4l).i could only find details for the 2.2l.
The biggests problem to me is to find the intake manifold and throttle body, the rest wont be a problem. Can anyone give some ideas where to look for something like this....did you get some 2.4 cressida's whith feul injection
looking to increase a bit of power and a bit of feul consumption.at the moment i get round 6Km/l in the city, and 7.7km/l on the open road.
any comments wil help

Re: EFI-22R
Hi All,
thanks for all the reply's.i used to get about 5km\l.i bought the bakkie(had hilux's before)and it had a verry nice branch on whith long pipes and came out to a 76mm pipe...but the owner before me fitted a 50mm pipe.so i took it of and had a 76mm freeflow fitted...wow what a differance.after that i completely serviced it and re setted the valve's.about a week after all this we went to kosi, and to my surprise at every feul fill it gave me 7.4 whith a 7 foot trailer.in last month i took a couple of people hunting(i am a ph too)it gave me 7.8Km/l whith no trailer.the only thing thats a bit diffrent is i fitted 275 tyres, the ratio changed only that the speedo is now the same as the gps.it used to show 100 and the gps showed 92.
what i want to do is take the head of and have it flowed, the inlet and exhaust ports matched to the manifolds and do the efi

Re: EFI-22R
Rather flow the manifolds after the Efi, the inlet especially.

Re: EFI-22R
sorry,i havent been on the site for some time.....had another 2 hunting trips.
I didnt fit the branch,it was on when i got thr bakkie.some people build branches whith short pipes.the longer the seperate pipe's the beter.i was lucky mine is long, comes out to a 76mm.
the last trip i hade 5people whith 7foot trailer..heavy loaded and when we came back whe had a lot of meat extra.i could feel the bakkie were workin much harder, got 6.2km/l(not so impressed anymore)

Re: EFI-22R
Hi Sam, my engine is also still standard and i manage 7.6km/lt (just filled up today). I have a powerflow 50mm. I was adviced by the chaps at powerflow not to go to 76mm as it takes away your low down torque but does give you a bit more top end. (The 7.6km/lt i get on a combined cycle)

Hi georgejvr.
I can give you the number of a person who is clued up on mangement systems..where to get feul pumps,ecu..etc
i did a lot of research...and already bought half the stuff i need.i am going to take out the 22r and fit a wl engine.2.5tdi what is used in the ford and mazda.i spoke alot a while back whith hoppy and a person here in pretoria whith a 4x4 workshop(chris mod).it works fine..i have seen of those engine's whith 400000km on it.the power increse is verry good and the economy is 8.5 to 9km/l.what makes the conversion nice it is basicaly bolt off and bolt on.only have to change one engine mounting.the heat gauge works 100%,have only to calibrate the rev counter.i allready bought the new housing for engine gearbox conection, kzte radiator, colt 2.8tdi intercooler, new ford presure plate, and hilux 2.7 clutch plate....next month only the engine to come.will keep you posted on happenings
