Servicing Platkar

Post by dalkill »

I need to service the rolla.
She low on oil, and due for service.

How do I change the petrol filter.
With the lux, it's all so simple.
But the freaking rolla has this metal fuel filter that is apparently a headache to replace?
Any tips?

Also, the timing belt is due for replacement.
Can I do this myself?

Depending on how well you know engines I would not recommend you do this by yourself... maybe some of our more mechanically inclined members in your area can give you a hand... :?: :?: :?:

Hi,

If this is the same setup than what my Camry had then you must be careful. At the top of the filter where the fuel line comes in is a nut. You need a spanner to hold on to that while you or somebody else tries to losen the petrol filter. If you don't do that then you will twist the fuel line (had to replace the fuel line when I bought the car cause somebody that did not know what he was doing twisted the fuel line).

My suggestion is to get somebody that knows how to do it to change it for you. Unless you feel good doing it yourself.

Cheers
