Hi All.
Hope you are well.
I am new here so let me know if anything is not correct with this post.
I bought a Hilux 4L V6 Petrol and are very excited to use it properly.
I have an auxiliary fuel tank that is connected to the main tank and another feed.
I assume the previous owner had an additional tank in the back.
This might be a stupid question but, if I want to remove the "Green" pipe, should I do it when there is zero fuel in both the tanks? Should it be opened and given time to breath before I work on it?
For better understanding:
Yellow - Main inlet
Orange - Main tank inlet
Blue - Pipe to auxiliary tank
Red - Auxiliary tank inlet
Green - Connection to back.
I want to remove the "T" between the "Blue" and "Red" pipe and join them again.
Hope this makes sense and the pictures work.
Thank you for the help.
JP

Re: Auxiliary Fuel Tank Help
I have a similar setup for my auxiliary tank mounted in the spare wheel well. It gives all kinds of issues with airlocks when filling up, so I want to reroute it. I can probably remove the existing couplings and reroute the lines without removing the tank(s) BUT, I don't want to find myself in the situation where I have the lines off the couplings and then find out that I cannot get them back on again because of poor access with the tanks mounted.
I'm going to wait until the bakkie is basically empty, then drain the remaining fuel from the main tank. Then if I need to, it won't be as much of a pain to drop the tanks.

Happy trails
